After recognizing the potential of blockchain technology, Pranav Bhardwaj started learning and soon excelled in the blockchain domain. He is currently working under Wipro’s CTO Office and Advanced Technology Group as an Architect and an engineering leader, building & delivering blockchain solutions to global clients.

His educational background

Pranav pursued his bachelor’s of engineering (honors) in electrical and communication engineering at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science,Pilani one of India’s top technological universities. He has always been driven by innovation and made it a point to participate in various conferences globally, as a result of which his work got published at an early age.

His work experience

Pranav started his career with a job at Ericsson, where he received multiple awards for his work as an Automation Engineer. Using his first mover’s advantage and being an early adopter, he mastered the newly built tool for MSDP Automation Engine and delivered training internationally for setting up a global team across various NOCs working with 2G, 3G, CDMA & LTE Technology.

Blockchain technology caught his attention after his stint at Ericsson. He started building proof of concepts (POCs) on blockchain, took rigorous online training, and ultimately landed a coveted job at Deloitte Consulting USI. He started here as a developer and consultant and was quickly promoted to the position of Architect/Senior Consultant. His work was widely appreciated and felicitated with awards for outstanding deliveries done for multiple clients. He was selected as a “Blockchain Master” by Deloitte’s blockchain leadership and played a significant role in building the blockchain practice in Deloitte USI. He designed and developed blockchain solutions catering to multiple industries such as pharma, insurance, supply-chain, U.S. public sector initiatives, and accounting.

After spending close to three fulfilling years at Deloitte, Pranav joined Samsung Research as a chief blockchain engineer under the CTO Office, where he started with a team of two and shared the responsibility of growing and setting up the blockchain practice. His key contributions included: 

• Bringing mobility to blockchains with a focus on peer-to-peer systems.
• Performing research on various blockchain technologies and their implementations.
• Researching data propagation protocols.
• Making systems truly decentralized.
• Architecting a blockchain testnet.

He is currently working under Wipro’s CTO Office and Advanced Technology Group as an Architect and an engineering leader, building & delivering blockchain solutions to global clients.

His Unique Selling Proposition

Talking about what makes him so brilliant at his job, he can dive deep and understand the grassroots level of any problem statement and can propose a valuable solution promptly when asked about an implementation. Apart from that, he can compare technological implementations with nature or easy-to-understand day-to-day life examples, which helps simplify complex technological concepts. For instance, he told us about the time when he compare the complex concept of cryptography with “courier service” to make it easy for everyone to understand the technicalities of the term. 

Pranav uses his knack for teaching and his excellent listening and communication skills to train others in his profession. He secured a Train the Trainer Certification from the Blockchain Council and has since, out of a pure passion for the technology, trained over 1000 professionals around the globe on blockchain technology and delivered sessions in multiple webinars. 

His achievements

Pranav is a high-achieving technical whiz who has many accolades to his name. He was declared the winner at “SharkTank,” a competition modeled after the eponymous TV show that rewards innovation, which was held internally within Deloitte. His winning idea revolved around how blockchain can bring reform in the re-insurance industry. 

He also won the Oracle Blockchain Hackathon, leading the team to build and deliver a vaccine distribution mechanism that solves multiple problems in the industry revolving around counterfeit drugs, provenance, and unhealthy distribution. 

Pranav was the recipient of the Audi Award for Design & Innovation, Helsinki, Finland, where his team of three shared their winning idea of an innovative driver seat design. This design was selected from more than 100 global teams. They made it to the top of the list and also got the chance to build a live working prototype of the same, which was later presented to the Audi design team. The idea was published in Audi Finland’s magazine and received very well by Audi’s design team.

Another global achievement in his name resulted from his participation in the Global Tech Conference, Istanbul, Turkey. Here, Pranav and his team came up with another innovative idea that secured them a selection as one of the top 25 ideas for that conference. Their core idea was to build a sim-card travel mechanism enabled with NFC, where a mobile device acts as a travel card. This was about making NFC-enabled sim cards. The team presented the idea and the implementation roadmap to University Professors from MIT & VCs for future capitalization.
